A Day Looking Up: CASSA Fills With a Different Kind of Noise Than Usual

Children aged five to thirteen from Space Innovation Camp — some barely tall enough to reach a telescope eyepiece — spent an afternoon at the Center, trading textbook astronomy for a 24-antenna array on the roof, a live signal on a screen, and an eyepiece of their own.

Astronomy, astrophysics & space science — pursued from Bangladesh

Founded in 2025, the Center for Astronomy, Space Science and Astrophysics (CASSA) is an autonomous, multidisciplinary research center of Independent University, Bangladesh, working under the Office of the Vice Chancellor. Its work runs on three missions — research, teaching and outreach — with the vision to be a pathfinder in Bangladesh, impactful in South Asia, and part of the international community in these fields.
